Come cheer on the speedskaters!

On February 18th and 19th, the Pioneer Speedskating Club is excited to host the US Speedskating National Marathon. Saturday morning at 10 AM is the 25 kilometer race and Sunday morning at 9 AM is the 50 kilometer race.

However if you got to this page, I am sure that you are probably not a skater? That’s wonderful! Now no excuses please. Why? These speedskaters need you. They need your signs, banners, coordinating t-shirts, cowbells, New Year’s noise makers, and other creative antics to generate the energy and enthusiasm to create the utmost support and downright fun out on the ice. The skaters will thank you. We intend to provide the music for the skaters but we can guarantee that crowd support around the oval will far outweigh the music.

From the start of the race until the last skater crosses the line, this marathon is built on community support. Portions of the event proceeds will benefit children’s learn to skate programs. And we look forward to you joining our team!
